Snow On The Sahara

Gurun Sahara terletak di kota Ain Sefra, Aljazair, Afrika Utara terkenal sebagai kawasan yang gersang dan panas. Ain Sefra disebut "Gerbang ke Gurun Pasir" terletak di ketinggian 1.078 meter di atas permukaan laut dan dikelilingi Pegunungan Atlas.

Gurun Sahara adalah gurun terluas di dunia yang mencapai 9 juta kilometer persegi merupakan kawasan paling kering dan paling panas di bumi dengan suhu udara bisa mencapai lebih dari 50 derajat celsius.

Namun beberapa hari lalu tepatnya mulai tanggal 19 Desember 2016, salju turun di gurun Sahara. Salju menutupi hampir seluruh permukaan gurun Sahara.

Salju turun pernah di terjadi di gurun Sahara pada 37 tahun yang lalu, yaitu pada tahun 1979, itu terjadi ketika sebuah badai singkat menerjang. Tepatnya pada tanggal 18 Februari 1979, di dataran rendah Gurun Sahara untuk kali pertama tercatat adanya salju.


Fenomena turunnya salju di gurun Sahara mengingatkan kita pada lagu yang dinyanyikan oleh Anggun dengan judul Snow On The Sahara.
