Grammy Award for Song of the Year

Grammy Awards berasal dari kata Gramophone Awards merupakan penghargaan yang diberikan oleh National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences di Amerika Serikat untuk menghargai prestasi di bidang industri musik.

Acara Grammy Awards pertama diadakan pada tanggal 4 Mei 1959 di Los Angeles. Namun baru pada tahun 1971 acara Grammy Awards ditayangkan di stasiun televisi. Piala Grammy Award mempunyai berat lebih dari dua kilogram ini dibuat dari metal khusus yang disebut grammium.

Peraih Grammy Award tertua yaitu Pinetop Perkins di usia 97 tahun, dan yang termuda yaitu LeAnn Rimes di usia 14 tahun.
